Day 1 Bali
Arrival (D)
Meet and
greet upon arrival then transfer to Mercure Resort Sanur for dinner and
overnight.
Day 2 Halfday Ubud Tour – Flight to Jayapura
(B,L,D)
Breakfast at
hotel. Afternoon depart to Ubud village, which is
recognized as cultural centre of Bali. Enroute visit Celuk village reknown for
gold and silversmith handicrafts and Mas village for its finest artworks of
woodcarving handicrafts. Proceed on to stop at the monkey forest in Ubud. Upon
arriving in the main street of Ubud town, you are free to browse through the
colorful of Ubud market and see the local artists employing skills, tradition
and tools dating back centuries. Visit the royal palace of Puri Saren and one
of the best art museum of the country. Lunch at a local restaurant with a
delicious typical crispy duck. Dinner at the famous seafood restaurant on the
Jimbaran beach. Afterwards transfer to the airport for flight to Jayapura.
Day 3 Jayapura – Wamena (B,L,D)
Meet and
greet upon arrival in Jayapura then take a short flight to Wamena. Upon arrival
direct city tour visiting Napua village and Jibama local market. Afternoon free
at own leisure. Continue drive to Baliem Valley Resort for dinner and
overnight.
Day 4 Salt Spring and Mummy (B,L,D)
In the morning
one hour drive to Jiwika in the central Baliem valley. Start an one hour long
walking tour uphill (about 300 meters height) through a beautiful mountain
rainforest to the traditional salt spring of a Dani clan. Native women in
traditional costumes will demonstrate the old techniques of the salt
production. After the relegation you have lunch on the mountain base. Continue
for walking to the close Kurulu hamlet, where a very old mummy of the famous
Dugum clan can be admired. Afterwards the women show you how the brought brine
is processed. In the neighbourhood you will see more picturesque hamlets.
Everywhere the friendly natives offer their arts and crafts, weapons and
curiosities. In the afternoon drive back to the resort.
Day 5 Wamena – Kurima – Kilise (B,L,D)
Breakfast at
hotel. Drive 1 hour to Kurima where the trekking begins with guide, cook and
porters. Start the trek through beautiful countryside and nice scenery to reach
Kilise village for about 2,5 hours. You will encounter and greeted by the Dani
people who work in their step sweet potato garden. Lunch will be provided by
boxes. Arrive in Kilise in the afternoon. Accommodation at the Mission
guesthouse at the village. Dinner will
be served by the cook.
Day 6 Kilise – Userem (B,L,D)
Breakfast.
In the morning enjoy the tribal dance by Dani tribes and cooking foods in the
traditional way with the hot stones and the earth pits (pig festival can be
also arranged as an optional with extra charge). Afterwards from Kilise village
start 2 hours walking down to Baliem river and crossing the bridge, to see
beautiful view of the Baliem gorge and landscape, passing the Dani gardens and
see their daily activities. Lunch enroute. Afternoon arrive at Userem village.
Walking and explore the village surroundings. Accommodation and dinner at the
teachers or local house.
Day 7 Userem – Ugem (B,L,D)
Breakfast.
Walking hike up for about 2-3 hours, passing southern Dani gardens and people
in the way. Lunch box included. Afternoon walking around the village. Dinner
and overnight in Ugem village.
Day 8 Ugem – Seinma – Kurima – Wamena (B,L,D)
Breakfast.
Simple walking to Seinma village for about 2 hours, then down to the bridge to
catch the car in Kurima. Lunch box will be provided. Drive to Wamena for 1
hour, then direct to Baliem Valley Resort for dinner and overnight.
Day 9 Wamena – Jayapura (B,L,D)
After
breakfast then transfer to the airport for flight to Jayapura. Upon arrival
direct touring the city. You will visit Mc Arthur Monument of World War II
uphill of Ifar Gunung, then drive down to Sentani lake where you take a boat to
visit the village of Assey. After lunch in the side of the lake drive to the local
market Hamadi. Dinner and overnight at Sentani Indah Hotel.
Day 10 Jayapura – Bali (B,D)
Depart to
airport for flight back to Bali. Meet and greet upon arrival then transfer to
Mercure Resort Sanur for overnight. Afternoon free at own leisure.
Day 11 Free Program (B,D)
Breakfast at
hotel. Free program then farewell dinner with Balinese dance performance at
Bali Dance Festival.
Day 12 Bali Departure (B)
Breakfast at
hotel. Free program until transfer to the airport for your onwards flight.
